Restoring The Cripps Family Home With Adrian Zareba
Built in the mid-1700s in the fashionable Palladian style, Mead House was the long-time home of the prominent Cripps family, perhaps especially associated with the banker and antiquarian Wilfred Cripps. It was Wilfred who, in 1889, added the house’s prominent side wings to accommodate a member’s club and private collection of Roman remains, later absorbed by the Corinium Museum. In 2022 the building was bought by James Morris & Adrian Zareba, ending a three-decade stint as commercial offices and returning it, slowly and sympathetically, into two fine residences.
