CHARLIE COOPER’S
MYTH COUNTRY

This Country star Charlie Cooper talks to Festival President Fiona Reynolds about his brand new BBC series, Myth Country – a humorous but curiously touching odyssey into the weird and wonderful world of British folk traditions and rural legends. From crop circles to cheese rolling, King Arthur and demon dogs, Charlie explores why humans still feel the need to share ancient tales, uphold obscure rituals, leave marks on the landscape and to feel the eerie thrill of mythical creatures in their midst. Join Charlie in Cirencester’s majestic 12th century wool church to hear about his inspiration for the show, the challenges of making it, and to celebrate our country’s fascinating, revealing and too-often-overlooked ancient rites, myths and rituals.
