Cirencester Tapestry

Launch Day! £Free Drop In, going on all week
To celebrate the return of the Bayeux Tapestry to England for the first time in nearly 1000 years, come and help create a giant Cirencester Tapestry featuring scenes of local life past and present designed by local people with festival illustrator, Emily Moss. Using the two simple stitching techniques from the real Bayeux Tapestry, everyone is invited to drop in, take up a needle and make a mark on our beautiful medieval-inspired community artwork. No experience necessary! The tapestry workshops will be open all week from Saturday 24 October to Saturday 31 October – Closed Sundays.
